As a registered Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Level 2 British Triathlon Coach, healthy minds and bodies are my main focus and passion. I am registered with both HCPC (Number: PYL31332) and the BPS (Number: 252244). I am also a member of EMDR UK and the BABCP.
I have worked in mental health for over 6 years in the NHS and currently work with Severe and Enduring Mental Health Difficulties (including Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Psychosis, OCD and Personality Disorders) within Secondary Care Psychology. However, I work trans-diagnostically, meaning I think about the individual and not just a diagnosis, and have experience of working with a variety of difficulties.
I mainly use theory and practice based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). However, I also work a lot with Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Menatilsation Based CognitiveTherapy (MBCT), and Dialectical Based Therapy (DBT) principles.
You may wish to look at NICE Guidelines to read a bit more on different therapies and what is recommended (https://www.nice.org.uk/).
